Slow & Steady

Happy spring! I am exceedingly grateful to feel the subtle, dappled touch of March sunshine on my skin and to bear witness to the consistent, methodic emergence of the earliest blooms from the earth.

Theres a beautiful dependability to the season - and SO much magic!

Hope is sewn into the hopping about of fat little robins and the restless chittering of wildlife raising with the increasingly dewey morning hours.

Of course, with the bustling upheaval of nature, comes an intrinsic urge to do...more! I found myself excited to see all that the season could offer if I could just schedule time for - everything! I was mentally piling plan after plan on top of older plans, an excellent exercise in the art of getting in one's own way!

Thankfully, this long-awaited (by me) blog post helped to snap me out of "it" and back into the much more "human" experience that I am slowly, intentionally creating and learning how to enjoy. Thank goodness.

I want to live slowly, as slowly as possible. To walk outside every day simply to notice the change in the way the grass sways in a new breeze. To perceive the way that trees cast shadow during different times of the day. To kneel down close to the ground to observe the soft landing spot occupied by a fallen acorn. To listen to the beautiful life story of a gorgeous leaf.

I hope that, if you visit this page, you get a sense of emotion from the images. Nature continues to move me in ways that warm my soul and encourage me to tell her stories. I aim to deliver images that embody emotion of all kinds. As we know, there is no such thing as a "bad" emotion. More on that another time!

I'm so incredibly grateful to find myself in a time of life where I am able to move slowly, and observe. I firmly believe that things happen "for" you, not "to" you - although it can be hard to see with any semblance of clarity in the initial moments. I hope that there are images here that you connect with. I'd love to know which images resonate with you and your story!

If you see something you like, please don't hesitate to reach out. Deep down, I'm a "systems" lady, and would love to have something in place before offering up the option to purchase, but heyyyyy I'd be lying if I said I had any idea about what I was doing - ever!

As of right now, any purchase will be considered a "donation" (so basically you make up the price - until I firm things up!) and half of all donations will go to Sleeping Giant State Park Association to aid in their continued efforts to maintain the space for all local nature enthusiasts! Hopefully that will extend to more of my favorite local spots, but, baby steps for the win!

"Sleeping Giant State Park is one of Connecticut’s premier state parks, with 32 miles of

backcountry trails leading through pristine woodlands, over rugged traprock ridges, and to scenic overlooks. Visitors also enjoy the park’s abundant natural beauty and rich cultural history.

The Sleeping Giant Park Association is proud to help care for this regional landmark, and to provide visitors with resources including trail maps and guides." - sgpa.org
